New Book out written by Jenny O’Dea
Great news – the new book ‘Adventures of Luna & Dips’ is now completed & available FREE to schools & members of the public (for Irish residents only!). Suitable for ages 8/9 & up, the book written by Tick Talk Ireland’s co-founder Jenny O’Dea aims to encourage people young and old to learn about ticks and the dangers of Lyme disease. Please note that supplies are limited and will be offered on a first come first served basis. Packs for schools will also include leaflets for the parents, a poster for the school, plus information for teacher including tips on prevention, colouring sheets, plus child friendly websites for more information.
NB: All books have now been claimed, the demand exceeded expectations however a kindle version & accomanying downloads are available below:

NB: The final print of Luna & Dips released in April 2013 is made more child friendly & comes interspersed with facts on ticks, symptoms of lyme disease & tips on prevention, and includes new illustrations by Dave Farrelly, however below is a sneak peak of the original story!
Part One – Luna (tick) the larval tick gets some advice from Dips (tick) in learning to quest for food Picture – Luna Believes she can fly
Part Two – Luna manages to find her first host, a mouse, & is well on her way in her quest to grow
Part Three – Luna gets the scare of her life, the poor mouse is being chased by a fox, but will she survive? Picture – Luna’s 1st Adventure!
Part Four – Having survived her first scary adventure, Luna finds a cosy place to moult into a nymph
Part Five – Its autumn when Luna wakes up & everything has changed, she feels all alone in the world & remembers the kind words of her new friend Fantaz (tick)
Part Six – Luna snuggles down for the winter & emerges in spring hungry for a new feed, will this be her chance?
Part Seven – Luna was lucky enough to find a new host, she dreams of becoming an adult, but could her dreams come true?
Part Eight – Luna feels very happy with herself, she drops off her 2nd host & looks forward to being an adult, but wait, trouble is ahead!

Educational book to help children learn about ticks, transmitters of Lyme Disease
Luna is suitable worldwide to help warn school children about ticks & their life cycle. Awareness is key to help prevent Lyme Disease!
We’re hoping to raise 1250 euros by December but we need your support. Any donation received big or small will be a massive help towards getting Luna published & made available to school children & the public. Rewards are offered depending on your level of pledge including free t-shirt, tick pincers, certificate, plus signed copy of the completed book. Pledges over 200 euros will also receive a voucher for a complimentary stay at Clontarf Castle Dublin! (Please note that rewards will be granted once funds are collected after the target has been reached).
